STRONG FLOOR AND ROOF: The floor includes substantial pressure treated timber beams spaced at only around 400mm centres, with durable tongued and grooved floor boards. The roof features substantial 5" x 2" planed purlins with attractive tongued and grooved ceiling boards.
LOW LEVEL GLAZING: Low level glazing provides a panoramic view from inside your garden room so you can appreciate your garden fully. With low level glazing you can enjoy a better view of the garden, especially at sites where the garden slopes away.
LENGTH AND WIDTH: In the SIZES & PRICES chart the first dimension listed is the width and the second dimension is the length. The width refers to the angled gable wall. The sizes quoted do not include the roof overhang or canopy. All sizes quoted are the external log cabin sizes unless stated otherwise.
LOG CABIN SIZES: Many log cabin suppliers quote only the roof size, which includes the roof overhang and the front canopy. The much smaller cabin size is either not listed at all or hidden in the small print. We quote cabin sizes, not including the roof overhang, unless stated otherwise.

DECORATIVE FELT TILES: Mineral coated bitumen felt tiles are an attractive and durable roofing material which is far more hardwearing than standard roofing felt. Traditionally used for small buildings only in the UK, most felt tiles are made in Scandinavia where they are used widely in housebuilding.
VERANDAH: The optional verandahs are 1500mm deep (4'11") with pressure treated 28mm thick decking laid on pressure treated 57mm x 45mm joists. The balustrades to the front and sides feature logs to match the cabin. Pressure treatment is a lifetime preservative treatment. Timber sizes are finished thickness after machining.
UNDERFLOOR INSULATION: The underfloor insulation is designed to suit our timber floor. The rigid insulation boards are suspended between the floor joists and above the ground. The top face of the insulation is just below the floorboards. The solidity of the floor is unaffected by this design. The internal appearance is also unchanged with attractive and durable tongued and grooved boards. Sufficient fixings are supplied to ensure that the insulation is suspended at the optimum height. Detailed instructions are supplied. The floor insulation used is 25mm thick polystyrene which is certified by the British Board of Agrement.
ROOF INSULATION: The roof insulation is laid over the roof boards and below the roofing felt. This ensures that the internal appearance is unchanged with attractive tongued and grooved boards. No internal lining boards are required. The roof insulation kit includes rigid foam boards which are lightweight and easy to install. Longer felt nails are included for fixing the roofing felt through the insulation. Timber battens are also included to retain the insulation boards and to conceal the exposed edges. Detailed instructions are supplied. The roof insulation is 50mm thick polyurethane foam with reflective silver foil laminate facings on both sides. It is certified by the British Board of Agrement.
PRESERVATIVE TREATMENT: We recommend good quality microporous woodstains which are impervious to water but not to water vapour. This allows the wood to breathe. There are many different types of woodstains available to suit a variety of timber products from fence panels to hardwood windows. It is advisable to seek advice at a builder's merchant or hardware shop before choosing the most suitable preservative.
